From prompts to reusable skills

My friend Zak introduced me to Jesse Vincent’s work on Superpowers, a set of reusable skills. It helped crystallize something I’d been thinking about: much of the value comes from the system around a prompt.

Make the way of working reusable

A useful skill can encode how to approach a problem, how to work through it, and how to execute. Combining those skills gives a workflow more consistency than repeatedly starting from a blank chat.

You can build up a stack of practices that carries forward what you’ve learned. The next task benefits from that accumulated structure.

Connect it to the work

The impact grows when skills connect to tools and systems through connectors, including MCP integrations.

Now the assistant can work with the workflows, data, and execution environments where the task actually lives. That makes the jump from discussing work to carrying out useful parts of it much more concrete.

This is what excites me: moving from individual prompts toward reusable ways of working, and from isolated conversations toward connected capability.
